We are not planning on having too many fires. When the next one sweeps through, we are prepared.
I was away from the property when the call came that a fire had taken hold and we were on fire. It started on an adjoining property. Before long our place was under threat. The speed was unexpected.
Fire protection equipment was on the to do list. We just didn’t get to do it in time. Now we have it, the Fire Trailer goes everywhere there is work to be done. It’s always ready to “hitch and go”. Whenever the farm ute goes out, so to does the Fire Trailer. It goes through hell. We use it for everything. Fire protection naturally when we are welding in the paddock. Carting water from dams to watering stock and watering trees. It’s a well-used bit of kit. Strong and well made, it needs to be in this environment. It is a valued asset.

Having the Fire Trailer has been a great investment. I didn’t think I would use it as much as I do. It’s peace of mind for fire security that’s for sure. There are just too many assets to leave it to chance.
It’s surprising how much it gets used, week in week out. It’s always carting water from here to there. Down to the dam or creek. Up the hills to water stock or even the garden. It’s that mobile pump we always needed. When the tractor or implements need a wash-down, I just start the pump and the job is done. No mucking around.
The ground is pretty hard and the tracks can be rough, but it handles everything I’ve thrown at it. Having that tank down low really helps. It’s built tough all right and a good decision.
